Tonight, we begin our first online training course of the new academic year.
Our first course is Enhanced Safeguarding, delivered by Cheshire East. We will be discussing the latest guidance and statutory updates that came into effect on 1 September, including important changes relating to safer sleep and safer recruitment.
Over the next 14 weeks, we will continue refreshing and updating our knowledge by attending a variety of online and in-person courses.
Ongoing professional development is essential to ensure our knowledge and practice remain current, enabling us to continue providing a safe, secure and nurturing environment for every child in our care. ๐งก

๐๐ Autumn has arrived at The Cheshire Childcare Company!
Our cosy book corner is full of woodland stories, pumpkins and friendly Halloween characters. Alongside it, the sensory trays are ready for the children to explore leaves, conkers, pine cones and autumn colours. ๐๐
These inviting spaces give the children room to follow their curiosity: scooping and sorting, discovering new textures, sharing stories and dreaming up their own play. I canโt wait to see what catches their attention first! โจ

โจ What a fun-filled week weโve had! โจ
From โhooveringโ the garden with the little ones, exploring sensory trays, painting pumpkins pictures and enjoying a trip to the airportโthere has certainly been plenty of fun, laughter and learning thrown into the mix! ๐งน๐ฟโ๏ธ๐ฅฐ
The highlight of the week, however, was helping me at Specsavers after my glasses had broken earlier in the week! ๐
When the wonderful staff found out that I was a childminder, they kindly allowed us to have a corner cubicle which turned into a role-play corner all to ourselves. They were so supportive and engaging with the children, giving them glasses to try on and their own little desk to work from.
I was told to sit patiently while the children took turns fitting glasses on meโand even on the staff! ๐ They absolutely loved becoming opticians for the day.
A huge thank you to the amazing Specsavers team for making the children feel so welcome and turning an everyday errand into such a special learning experience. These unexpected little adventures often create the very best memories! ๐๐

This repeated play may be a schema: a natural pattern of behaviour that helps children explore ideas and understand how the world works. ๐ง โจ
